One Sombre Evening....................

A yellow moon, an orange sun,
A million stars join in the fun!
Stirring the heart, the celestial dance
Took me eons beyond, into a trance.

Two little brats, apple of our eyes
Fill up our lives, bind us in ties!
Work, school, we are on the run
Holidays bring loads of fun!

Boys will be boys, there’s never a dull day
Squabbles, duels games they play!
Parents will be parents, quick in the fray
A rebuke, a lecture, the order of the day.

Tintin, Asterisk, Archie are devoured
Math and science equally savored.
Goodness, kindness, honesty imbibed
From a zealous, abundant family to guide.

Cheeses, chocolates always a treat
With Abba, Jilla and Michael’s Beat It.
Mauritius, Paris, dad takes them around,
Chiplun and Songaon, root them a-ground.

And such was life, a merry-go-round
The years rushed by safe and sound.
One sudden moment, they were little no more
Fine young men, gentle to the core.

“God be with you, be always your best”
And the little ones, they flew the nest.
“Find your dreams, blossom, flourish
Your wishes we will ever cherish”.

The moon was gone, the sky dreary
Matched my mood, broke my reverie!
The nest fell silent and lost its chirp
The void, the stillness, stayed with us.

The sun had set, not lost its pride
It did better, it lit up the other side!
Beautiful memories now our lifeline
Weekend calls bring in some shine.

“You found your loves, two maidens fine,
They made your lives worthy, divine!”
We opened our arms, they walked right in
Our hearts were one, we were kith and kin!

Like a rainbow lighting a gloomy phase,
A melody floating into a silent stage,
Like a picture adorning a golden frame,
Into our lives the two lasses came!

The clouds raced away, leaving a silver line
The moon smiled with a whole new shine.
The stars bounced back without fear
A Happy Family, aren't we, my dears?
